As a response to the numbers of male carers increasing dramatically since the CCA's establishment in 2001, The Carlisle Male Carers Club was set up as a group dedicated to the support of men of all ages. Many males who are carers sometimes find it difficult to interract and socialise due to depravation of social activity. This is a very common effect a caring role can have on an individual.
Thus far the MCC have organised several events including a visit to Dublin as part of Ireland's Carers Week as well as outings to the horses, dogs and various breweries to moderately sample their wares! The most recent trip took us to the north of Ireland taking in a visit to the Bushmills Distillery and the Giants Causeway.
